Israel’s international insurtech accelerator, established by Ayalon in collaboration with Insurtech Israel and BrokerTech Ventures held its half-time event last week. Insurtech Israel CEO Kobi Bendalek thanked all of the startups and partners. The event started with a series of interviews with the accelerator’s three business partners: Alex Zuckerman from Sapiens, Yinon Dolev from Sompo and Michael Byrne from McDermott Will and Emry. This was followed by a questions and answers session with Assaf Wand – CEO and founder of Hippo, one of the key influential people in the sector. Bendalek thanked Wand for his investment and support in developing the venture.
Taking part in the event were were representatives of the Insursights Inc, Ravin.AI, Ci-apfie, Five Sigma, Serenus AI and Gamasec startups and the partners: Dell, Sapiens, Deloitte, Sompo, McDermott Will and Emry, Uzi Baruch, Shibolet & Co., BrokerTech Ventures, Ayalon and Milliman.
Ayalon’s investment in the specifically designated venture for developing ventures in areas associated with the insurance sector is estimated at around 10 million shekels, the initial investment in the startups accepted to the program being between 150 thousand and a half a million shekels.
Ayalon’s unique accelerator holds two sessions a year, with 5-6 startups with the highest potential being chosen for each session. The selection is made by a panel of leading Israeli and international experts from the business environment of the insurance world, technology and investments, who also act as mentors to the entrepreneurs and assist them in submitting business proposals to investors and insurance companies in Israel and worldwide.
