K S International Underwriters – the biggest insurer in the heavy vehicles sector – will be participating in the costs of safety enhancement equipment designed for heavy vehicles, with a view to assisting its clients in reducing the risk entailed in these vehicles.
K S say that the move will be activated amongst other things due to two fatal accidents that occurred last week, in one of which two people were killed and the other in which seven people lost their lives. According to reports, the first accident occurred as the result of the collision between a truck with a minibus, whilst the second one occurred when a bus crashed into a bus stop. The bus company is insured under compulsory insurance by Harel, via the Accord Group, which includes K S International Underwriters. The two accidents took a heavy price in fatalities as well as injuries, some of them critical.
Accidents involving heavy vehicles are more complex, for a number of reasons – the main one being that accidents of this sort tend to be more severe and more fatal, relative to accidents involving cars.
K S International Underwriters policy, amongst other things, is to encourage its clients to improve driving behavior and reduce risks, and as part of this policy, K S International Underwriters will be offering participation in the financing of these support systems as well as reducing insurance costs for companies included in the program and who introduce the improvements.
Accord Group CEO Yaron Dwik: “We are proud to be participating in the national campaign for combatting road accidents. As a leading insurer in the heavy vehicles sector we see supporting this goal and assisting our clients in this area as a mission. We are pleased to see that our clients are partners in this goal and are promoting, together with us, various programs aimed at reducing the risk”.
