Developed in collaboration with Click-Ins Visual Intelligence platform for vehicle inspections, Visual Boost AI expands the company’s range of mobile-based artificial intelligence capabilities for damage detection and vehicle assessments.
Visual Boost AI, the latest addition to OPENLANE’s technology suite, supplements vehicle inspection data by prominently highlighting detected exterior damage directly on photos within the condition report (CR). This feature enables potential buyers to quickly and accurately assess the condition of vehicles, facilitating informed purchasing decisions.

Available for all dealer-consigned vehicles within OPENLANE’s U.S. marketplace, Visual Boost AI leverages artificial intelligence and computer vision technology to provide a virtual overlay of any detected exterior damage. These overlays feature hot pink highlights, pinpointing various damages such as hail, paint peel, detached panels, broken lights, rust, scratches, dents, and cracks. Buyers can toggle the overlays on or off within the condition report, empowering them to interpret data more quickly and accurately, leading to smarter and more profitable bidding decisions.
To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the inspection process, OPENLANE’s network of independent vehicle inspectors utilizes their smartphone cameras. The technology automatically generates AI-detected damage overlays for each of the eight standard CR images showing the vehicle at successive 45° angles. Inspectors then validate and reconcile these overlays, completing the process in less than a minute. This streamlined approach not only strengthens confidence among both sellers and buyers but also promotes a more dynamic marketplace.
